The JOY FM
“A friendly, multi-channel Southeast CCM network that gives you worship, classic, and alternative streams free.”
The JOY FM is the flagship of Radio Training Network, a nonprofit that has served Florida since 1986 and now reaches five Southeast states, including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Its 'positive and encouraging' contemporary Christian format is a familiar formula, playing the likes of Brandon Lake, for KING & COUNTRY, and Lauren Daigle, and the free app puts that stream in your pocket with no subscription attached.
What sets the app apart from a single-signal station is its channel lineup. Beyond the main JOY FM stream you get JOY Worship for continuous praise music, Classic JOY for older CCM, and the alternative LF Radio stream, so you can shift the mood without leaving the app. Apple CarPlay makes it easy in the car, an in-app voice-message feature lets you send a note straight to the station, and archived talks are available on demand. It holds a warm 4.7-star App Store rating, though from a modest base of about 158 reviews.
The trade-off is reach and depth. This is fundamentally a regional network, so listeners outside the Southeast lose the local connection that makes it special, and like every live-radio app it offers no track skipping or custom playlists. The extra content is lighter than a teaching-heavy network like Moody. But for anyone in its coverage area, or anyone who simply likes a positive CCM stream with a few channel options, The JOY FM is a genuinely pleasant, no-cost listen.
Is it right for you?
Listeners in Florida, Georgia, and the wider Southeast who want their local positive-CCM station in an app, with a few channel options to change the mood. Also a fine free worship stream for anyone.
You live outside the Southeast and want a national brand, or you want deep Bible teaching and podcasts. A network like Moody Radio or a national app such as K-LOVE will serve you better.
