Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information ChristianAppReviews.com collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. If you request a verified-pastor or church status, the church information you provide.
  • Content you create. Reviews, ratings, questions and answers, developer replies, Community Pulse responses, and saved apps in your Toolbox.
  • Usage and analytics. Listings viewed, apps saved, and outbound clicks. For a listing you own, we show you aggregate counts (views, saves, clicks) to help you understand interest in your app.
  • Technical information. Your IP address, browser type, and device or user-agent details. We store your IP address with your login session for security, and for the Community Pulse we store only a one-way hashed form of your IP for abuse prevention.
  • Payment information. If you make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a record of the transaction (such as amount and status) but do not store your full card number.

Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies that are necessary for the Service to work: a session cookie to keep you signed in, a security token to protect form submissions, and an identifier used to make sure the Community Pulse counts one response per visitor. We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across other websites.

How we use information

  • operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • create and secure your account and verify accounts where applicable;
  • display your reviews, ratings, and (for developers) the analytics for listings you own;
  • prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security threats, including rate-limiting sign-ins and submissions;
  • send transactional email such as verification links, receipts, and replies to your messages.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

  • Service providers. Stripe (payment processing), Postmark (transactional email), Anthropic (the AI app finder), and Amazon Web Services (hosting). These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms.
  • Public content. Your display name and the reviews, ratings, and questions you post are visible to others by design. Please do not include private information in them.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
  • Business transfers. If the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

AI app finder

When you use the AI app finder, the text of your request and information about candidate listings from our directory are sent to our AI provider to generate a recommendation. The results are grounded in apps that exist in our directory. Do not include sensitive personal information in your request.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account, after which we remove or anonymize your personal information except where we must retain it (for example, payment records).

Security

We protect your information with measures such as hashed passwords, hashed verification tokens, and encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to limit access to it.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update your account information when signed in, and you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information through our contact page. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for users 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

International users

We operate the Service from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "last updated" date above.
