Moody Radio
“Nearly a century of Bible teaching and worship, bundled into one of Christian radio's deepest free apps.”
Moody Radio, the broadcast arm of Chicago's Moody Bible Institute since 1926, offers the most content-rich app of the three, and it is not close. Where K-LOVE and Air1 are single-station music streams, Moody bundles a whole network: dedicated music channels like The Praise and Worship Channel, Majesty Radio, and Urban Praise sit alongside a 24/7 Spanish station (Radio Moody) and a deep lineup of Bible teaching programs, news, and podcasts. It is all free and listener-supported.
The teaching library is the standout. Shows such as In the Market with Janet Parshall, Open Line with Michael Rydelnik, Chris Fabry Live, and Faith & Finance Live give the app a substance that pure music stations cannot match, and you can subscribe to podcast episodes with push notifications when new ones drop. Practical touches like CarPlay support, favoriting stations, and setting a local morning show round it out. Listeners clearly love it: a remarkable 4.9-star App Store rating across 13,000-plus reviews, plus 4.8 stars on Google Play from over 100,000 downloads.
Its weakness is polish rather than substance. The interface is more utilitarian than K-LOVE's sleeker design, and with so many stations and shows the app can feel busy to a newcomer who just wants to press play. Personalization is station- and podcast-level rather than song-level, so this is not a build-your-own-playlist tool. But for anyone who wants worship music and solid Bible teaching in one free place, Moody Radio is hard to beat.
Is it right for you?
Listeners who want serious Bible teaching, news, and podcasts alongside worship music, all in one free app. It is a strong fit for families and lifelong learners who value depth over slick design.
You mainly want a single, sleek contemporary worship stream to press play and forget, or full song-level personalization. K-LOVE, Air1, or a mainstream service will feel simpler.
