“It isn't the most calming app as there are so many features. It is also aimed at the Catholic faith, which is fine, but a Baptist or a Methodist might not be able to relate to it as well.”
Amen is completely free, which makes it the best choice for Catholic users who don't want to pay, since Hallow puts much of its content behind a $69.99 yearly paywall. It's also the only app in the group with journaling, and it offers a good mix of meditations, devotions, and sleep stories, with short 3 to 4 minute meditations and longer stories for winding down. Compared with Abide, where nothing is free, or Soultime, where full access costs $5.99 a month, everything in Amen is available from the start.
Amen's design scored 7/10, tied with Reflect for the lowest in the group, and with so many features, it felt more stimulating than calming. Pause, Abide, and Soultime all have calmer, more soothing designs, and Pause beat it overall by being just as free while staying simple and peaceful. Amen is also aimed at Catholics, so Baptists, Methodists, and other Protestants may relate more to non-denominational options like Pause, Reflect, or Soultime.
Hallow and Amen are both Catholic and packed with features.
