Exodus 90
“The digital backbone of a demanding challenge in prayer, asceticism and brotherhood.”
Exodus 90 is not a general prayer app, and it does not pretend to be. It is the digital backbone of a demanding 90-day spiritual exercise built around three pillars: daily prayer, ascetic disciplines like cold showers and fasting, and fraternity with a group of men walking the same road. The app delivers daily Scripture, reflections and a tracker for the disciplines you have committed to, structuring an experience that is deliberately hard.
For its intended audience, the design serves the mission well. The daily reflections are substantive and Catholic to the core, the accountability features keep you honest, and the fraternity element, walking with a small group of brothers, is central rather than an afterthought. That combination of prayer, self-denial and brotherhood is exactly what draws men to Exodus, and the app makes a genuinely difficult commitment feel structured and supported.
The caveats are the price and the scope. At around $90 per year, with a higher Exodus U tier, it is a real investment, and outside a 90-day exercise or its ongoing content it is far less useful than a daily devotional. If you are a Catholic man ready for a serious, communal ascetic challenge, it is excellent and worth it; if you want gentle daily prayer or a free tool, this is not the app for you.
