RefNet
“Press play and trust the stream: 24/7 curated teaching with almost nothing to configure.”
RefNet is Ligonier Ministries' 24-hour Christian internet radio station, and it is one of the most quietly excellent apps in this category. Instead of asking you to choose what to hear, it hands you a continuously curated stream of preaching, teaching, Scripture readings, worship, and news, drawing on R.C. Sproul's teaching and a roster of trusted voices Ligonier stands behind. The result is like tuning into a station where every hour has been vetted for faithfulness.
The app itself is simple and dependable: press play and listen. It streams cleanly, remembers where you left off, and includes a schedule so you can see what is coming next. Its 4.9-star rating and thousands of reviews reflect how well this focused approach lands with listeners who want trustworthy content playing in the background of a workday, a commute, or a kitchen. There are no ads and no subscription.
The trade-off is that RefNet is radio, not an on-demand library. You cannot easily pull up a specific sermon on a specific text the way you can in SermonAudio or Desiring God, and there is nothing here for sermon preparation. As a companion to those archives, though, RefNet fills a real gap: it is the app for when you want to hear something good without deciding what.
